Staying on Track

Hi friends! Carol here:

How is it already August? Summer went by in a flash, and everyone’s already gearing up for fall (except for the weather in SoCal, it’ll probably still feel like summer until December). This time of year feels like everyone’s in limbo, because it’s too early to celebrate any holidays,it’s hard to figure out what to wear, and the weather is awkward; it’s chilly in the morning and 90 degrees in the afternoon. Even though this is a weird season for everyone, we still have to remember to be in the moment as much as we can, and enjoy these next couple months, especially with the new school year just around the corner.

There are many ways to stay present with your goals during this funky time. The ways I help myself stay on track are eating healthy even when I’m crunched on time, making time for my hobbies or things I enjoy doing, and having fun on the weekends where I can take my mind off of work (kind of). Staying healthy physically and mentally is one of the biggest challenges for me when I’m busy running all over the place! I know many of us struggle with this, and we’re all trying to figure out what works best for our own schedules! Here are some things that I do to try to stay on track:

  • Always eat breakfast
  • Plan out week (in your event planner) including workouts, meals, special occasions, etc. It’ll stress you out less to have everything planned out on paper and not sitting in your head worrying about if you’ll remember or not.
  • Stay active; plan out gym/exercise time whenever you can and don’t think about it…just go!
  • Drink WATER, and coffee or tea when needed. We’re all busy and feeling sluggish is the worst!
  • Take 10 minutes a day to sit and breathe, it’ll help immensely with your mindset-relaxing your mind is just as important as relaxing your body
  • Create a night routine (this helps with your skin, sleep, and headspace); such as pick up your room, watch T.V. for 30 min to wind down, brush teeth, do a fask mask, and go to sleep around the same time every night
  • Treat yourself once in a while, save up for something each month even if it’s just some extra change in your pocket. It’ll give you something to look forward to, saving up for a night out, going to see a movie, or taking a trip to Target for some new shoes (can you tell I LOVE Target?)

Obviously it’s hard to remember to do all of these things throughout the week, I know personally for me there are days where I just want to sit in bed and eat ice cream-but every little bit helps! Being mindful of staying on track is a great step in itself, and every step towards bettering yourself (even if it’s simple) is a huge victory! Be proud of yourself and know that you’re human not to mention BUSY!

Hopefully these tips help you, and if there are other ways that help you stay on track feel free to message us on Instagram or Facebook! I love hearing from you guys, and sharing tips or stories!

Thanks for stopping by the blog! We’ll see you next time 🙂
