Back to School in 2021

Back to School in 2021

John starts school first, on January 4th, 2021…at our dining room table.

Virtual Classrooms at Home

In Southern California, all ICU beds are filled. His district has opted that for the foreseeable future high school teachers and students will teach and learn from home. I go back to school next week , on January 11, 2021. In our district, teachers are back at school, and students have had the option of learning from home or learning at school. Approximately half of our students enrolled in my school are physically back at school.

Up until Winter Break, there have been very few cases of COVID 19 in our district, and there has been little to no transmission at school. Confirmed cases of COVID were being transmitted at home and brought to school. We are so fortunate to have effective PPE, protocols, measures, and procedures in place in our district that have thus far kept us safe, allowing in-class school to continue.

John has gotten used to teaching his students virtually, and I am anxious to get back to school to see my students! I have to be honest… I am a bit nervous about the lack of available hospital beds right now, but our students are waiting for us, so we will be there Monday, ready to greet them to start a new school year!
