There are so many things you can do with an iPad mini… The iPad mini 4 is small, weighing half as much as its big brother and measuring only 8 inches by 5.3 inches.

The size is perfect for small little hands to hold and use with the many apps available for education. I have seen amazing learning happening in our T-K classroom using Seesaw, which is a digital portfolio app and is also great for parent communication.

Here are some of the best ipad apps that we’ve seen used and are available for classrooms:

• ClassDojo- a classroom management, reward system app
• Plickers- a real time assessment tool
• Seesaw- a real-time digital portfolio app perfect for parents to see their child’s learning throughout the day
• Park Math- a great way for little learners to learn their math facts
• Brainzy- a game program that helps little learners learn math and reading skills
• Educreations Interactive White Board- turns your iPad into a record-able whiteboard
• Evernote- students can take notes, capture photos, create to-do lists, and record their voices
