John Here:
Well it’s been a race to the finish but my daughter’s graduation present is done! I enjoyed making this for her and I hope she thinks of me when she uses it as she makes her way through college and beyond. I think it came out pretty well and only I know where all the mistake are! (first rule of good woodworking is to cover your mistakes so that no one can easily see them!)
I was sweating it out that the mirror may not make it in one piece but they really know how to pack it for shipping.
One piece!
And it fits!
I know it may look like it doesn’t but I actually measured correctly.
Here are all the pieces waiting to be finished. It doesn’t look like there is a lot to this but it took a while to get this far.
Once all the pieces had 4 coats of finish applied, all there was left to do was put it together. So here it is!
Kayla, you have done nothing but make me proud ever since I first saw you at 8:02am on June 8th 1997. I hope you like this, I loved making it for you. Have a great graduation!
Thanks everyone for looking, let me know what you think. See you soon…
John
