Tired of the same old fourth grade “build a mission” project for your fourth grade classroom? California Missions for Google Classroom is the new way to teach a unit on California Missions and California Mission History!
Engage students with technology!
Students LOVE using technology to research new topics and learn new things. We created two digital resources to help fourth grade teachers modernize their California missions units. We created our Google California Missions UNIT ~ a unit, packed full of passages, text dependent questions, Leveled Essential questions (Costa’s for AVID, DOK, or Bloom’s) writing prompts, a digital research report, and much, much more!
We developed our Google Interactive California Missions Interactive Notebook Research Report to create a new way for students to “show what they know” when learning about California Missions.
There are SO MANY REASONS to be migrating toward digital resources. Here are a few benefits:
- HIGH student engagement
- Accessible ANYWHERE
- No printing, cutting, or gluing
- Students CANNOT LOSE their work. NO EXCUSES!
- Students gain skills needed for high-stakes testing, and College and Career Readiness
If you are preparing for Open House, there are so many ways that you can marry a digital resources with traditional classroom environments. Students can show their parents their digital work by accessing a device in their classroom and confidently show their new skills. You can also add beautiful bulletin boards to accompany this digital work. One of my favorite teachers recently used our resource and added two beautiful boards to compliment their digital work. She printed pieces of their digital report for the wall, and then added a BEAUTIFUL art project to show a splash of color and tap into student creativity.
Of course, if you are not quite ready for Google resources, we are here to help! Just jump in an ask questions. We provided step-by step directions on how to use this resource in Google resource or other platforms.
We do also provide our original, paper variety resources for both our unit and our research report. We’re here to help:)
