Hey friends and fellow teacher buddies!
Happy New Year and welcome back! Cheers to 2020, let’s do great things this brand new decade! If you’re new around here, we’d like to say hello and welcome to The Teacher Team blog where we talk about all things lifestyle, helpful teacher tips, and much more! For those who are familiar with our blog welcome back, and we’re excited to be sharing more on our blog this year!
Since it’s a new start to the year, we decided to think about our future goals to gain some direction and enthusiasm. For John and I both, physical health is very important because it keeps us sane and we genuinely enjoy it. This year our goal is to work out 3-4 times a week and stick to it even though we have crazy schedules!
Keeping more of a routine in general helps us be more productive during the day. As an added (funny bonus), our youngest daughter also created some goals for herself this year- one of them being keeping her room clean. Will she stick to it… time will tell and I’ll let you know ha ha.
One of the ways we keep up with our schedules and make ourselves stay on top of things is putting everything in our google calendar; and when I say everything, I mean EVERYTHING. Google calendar is so easy to manage and keep track of what we have to do. If you need help either with organization or starting a routine, getting a useful planner definitely helps. Everyone’s different when it comes to how they like to plan their days out so if that means writing things down on a whiteboard in the kitchen, do it! Or if using a bunch of colored pens and stickers in a paper planner motivates you go to Target right now and stock up on some sharpies!
Lastly, with all this planning and motivating it can become overwhelming at times. Try to work in at least 15 minutes to 1 hour a day where you can do something that clears your head. Mental health and relaxation is just as important as anything else, so find something that keeps you calm amongst all the madness. Some examples of this are:
- Going on a walk after dinner with the dogs
- Stretching
- Writing/coloring in a journal
- Listening to music
- Watching a funny show
- Reading a good book
All of these little things you could work into your schedule even if it’s just for a small amount of time! Whether it’s self care or starting a new hobby, it is so important to take some time for yourself- especially when most of everyone’s day is taking care of other things, people and obligations! - Here’s what we’ve been working on in the world of TPT! We’re busily working on created Google resources to compliment our Reach for Reading product line. Here’s an example:
Thank you for stopping by #theteacherteam blog! We will be back next week so stay tuned tee hee!
See you soon,
Carol and John @theteacherteam #theteacherteam
