Teacher Team Linky Party!

Hi everyone, we’re John and Carol Beaumont, and I know this linky is called “Meet The Teacher Team” but that is actually our name, The Teacher Team (It really is!) We just started our blog not too long ago. You can see our initial post right here: https://theteacherteam.com/welcome-to-our-blog/

Since we didn’t reveal all our secrets at once here goes:

Where did we meet?

We met 22 years ago at a restaurant (ok a bar!) when I showed up with a friend and Carol was there with my friend’s cousins. I know it’s not “Lady and the Tramp” romantic but it’s been a great romance ever since.

The OC Mining Company has a great view, you can even see our house from here!

Who does what?

While we both create products, Carol creates more than John does and then John does the editing and formatting for posting products. John takes care of Pinterest and Carol does all the “Facebooking”. There’s also a constant, running conversation related to TPT that probably drives our youngest teenager out of her mind (We’re not worried, most teenagers are out their mind already).

What do you enjoy most about your partnership?

We like the fact that it gives us a common purpose and gives us something to work on together.   We each have our own interests and this brings us together in new ways that we may never have found if not for TPT.

Can you guess who is who? We love our dogs and used them for our TPT logo.

Do we have nicknames for each other?

No nicknames, just not our style.

What is your teaching theme song? (Either what song inspires your teaching or, totally pretend, what song would play when you’re introduced, like at a sporting event?)

If we were being introduced at an event, the music would have to be anything loud and fast by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. Probably “Born to Run”, it’s a safe choice. (Carol knows this is a great choice to keep John happy, luckily she really wouldn’t care what song it is or who is singing it!)

Come on, you know this is the greatest rock and roll band of all time. It’s ok, you can admit it.

If you could dress-up to go somewhere, what would you wear and where would you go?

Dressing up for John would definitely be an Angels shirt and an Angel game or a UCLA shirt and a UCLA football game, he’s very simple (bordering on boring). We both love to go to Vegas and hang out with our family and friends also. Carol’s favorite way to dress up is in her newest running shoes, running clothes, or workout-wear. Running wear is her favorite clothing to buy, and otherwise hates shopping (except for on-line shopping)!

Which do you prefer, cookies, brownies, or neither?

John: Chocolate Chip Cookies

Carol: Same (aren’t we boring?)

Can you ever really go wrong with these? Even if they're bad, they're still pretty good.

Name something you’ve created that you love using in your classroom.

For John’s classroom: Everything I do in my Anatomy class is on TPT. I use it all and like it all, it’s been refined over a long period of time so I know it works. If I had to pick one thing it would be my Cardiovascular System Unit. It’s my favorite unit to teach and has tremendous relevance for students.

Carol’s favorite things to create for the classroom are her common-core aligned research reports. Our best seller is our Animal report which was developed when she taught second grade, but she has developed over 25 of these reports that are all in our store. She has taught second through sixth grade and has a variety of reports for these grade levels.
